saya, exam dan musim seguk

Exam’s coming up pretty soon. Well not that so0n really. But u know sometimes u just blink and exam is just a week or two from today, which is why I prefer to use the the term ‘soon’.

My cheesecake business had to be paused. I wouldn’t wanna risk it eventhough I know it won’t affect my time that much but I’d rather spend that baking time for the physiology of the kidney. Ewww! Such torture medicine can be.

What else? Mansoura’s economy is going on okay I guess. With some minor problems and some difficulties, that’s normal~ exam or not, it must go on! If Ruqaiyah (last year’s Pen.Ketua Unit Ekonomi) could get jayyid jiddan last year, why not me? Its just the matter of time management, which I suck at.

Yes Mansoura has reached its phase where a heater is a daily 24-7 requirement for every human being (mind the electric bill!!). Before this I didn’t even have to use the heater cuz it wasn’t that cold and 3 layers of baju was enough.. but you’ll be dead in your sleep if you don’t have a heater beside your bed. And yes people you can use your bubble jacket now..

Speaking of electric bills.. I just wanna remind y’all bout the system here. They usually won’t give you the precise amount that you have to pay now. But in the next few months you’ll notice that you’re electric bill seems to be absurdly high compared to the previous bills. Soooooo from now on, just prepare yourself la eh.~

5. dalam satu bday dapat 3 surprise! surprise kad dari ja+wadat, surprise 'bunga' dari exco2 pcm and surprise parteyy~~~~Kiki berkata ketika jamuan.."erk jap.. saya ada pengumuman.. harini bday mir! saya mjemput nabil utk mberikan hadiah kpd mir" tu xble bla!!

7. got my 1st bday video surprise especially made by ja n wadat~ huhu terharu gile.. klaka tahap dewa~~ isk..

9. persembahan "no Mir" dari ja+wadat+yah memang marvellous~ especially masa wadat cuba tarik note macam jordin sparks.

12. final performance was by Baji and Temah.. Baji berkata.. "bangun semua.. Negaraku..." and Temah's ikrar was darn original!! "kami.. berjanji akan.. menyokong mir.. menjadi kawan... dunia akhirat.." superb!!!

i am officially 20.

finally after 2 years!

yes two years since i've seen org sembelih lembu during hari raya Qorban~ biiznillah i get to see 4 lembus being slaughtered on raya ke-3!!! yay!!

do you see fear in the cow's eyes? i cant see either . .

diorang cakap kul 6.30 nak start sembelih.. aku pegi pkul 7.05.. but SEMUA dak laki je ada kat situ!! mane dak pompuan T_T maka gambar ni terpaksa di-zoom dari jauh...... ba'din baru ada dak2 pmpuan smpai . . .
lembu pun sampai lambat!! 7.40 kot baru sampai~ hampeh nye lembu!

setelah lembu diikat dan dihempap oleh badang2 mansoura, maka~ penyembelihan pon dilakukan oleh ustaz salman . . . aku ingat ke dak medic yg nk potong.. ape kes! ada ar dlm 50-70 org dak laki medic kat situ, tapi ustaz yg potong.. camne nk jadi surgeon !!! takkan dah kerja nanti nk panggil ustaz salman bedah kot!!

scene seterusnya disimpan buat kenangan~ bloody sangat.. takut gak sesape tepengsan masa nampak to0 much blood~

ni plak muka minah2 poyo~ yg tengah tu bukan aku~ tu kembar aku..~lalala~

overall, that day memang best! pagi tengok lembu nye carotid percik2, then semua orang gotong-royong lapah daging, potong bawang and carrot and kobis and perah limau dan sbgnye~ petang makan sup tulang FREE FREE!!
the next day nye jamuan raya makan free lagi! waaaaa rezekiiiii melimpah2~~~

Ta'aruf Days baru je over. ALHAMDULILLAH ada juniors yg showed up. hehe. thanx to semua yg membantu, especially senior2 MMMC. dan juga encik Pengarah Ta'aruf Day~ mantap ar ko pian, next year ganti pokjat (Pengerusi PCM) plak ek..haha!~ sememangnya gempak Games Day dan Amazing race! = ) thanx semuaaaa! hanya Allah yg dapat memberi ganjaran kpd korg ~

Unit Ekonomi berjalan~ sampai nak study pun asyik terpikir pasal duit. study la miriam!! huhuhu~~

Raya Haji semlm mmg best! gath kat umah Kak Kay, rooftop kot!! awesome fo0d! thanx semua yg memasak.. hehe~~ pastu gi ambush umah senior beramai2.. memang sgt sonok! haha~
owh.. raya haji kat sini memang BLOODY~ jalan banjir ngan blood~~~~~~ cow's blood of course! pastu tok2 arab sini suka sembelih lembu diorang kat dlm imarah~ urm . . bau wangii la umah nye.

esok dak2 medic mansoura nak qorban 4 ekor lembu kat syari' sebelah samanoudi. weee! jom ramai2 tolong masak!

not forgetting cheesecake business~~ hehe. masih berjalan. alhamdulillah..dah naik harga..haha!
sememangnya ada hikmah aku menjual kek ni.. sebab topup duit cam 2-3x dalam seminggu kot.. compensate ar..huhuhu. haa b'day aku tak lama lagi.. sapa yg takde idea nak beli hadiah ape utk aku.. belanja laa topup pon aku dah sukeee..heeeee. and to my customers, stop spreading my cheesecake to the boys ok!! malu laa!! and before i end my post for today.. i would like to say takziah kepada Husna & Faris who just lost their newborn child on the 5th of December 2008. be strong u two.. we are all here for you guys~ : ( tabahkan hati korang ok~
i still remember the 19yr-old husna saying "akak, urm.. saya dah nak kahwin" earlier this year. we welcomed the arrival of their baby girl on the night of 4th December but Allah have decided for them, to take the life of their child..

ni la benefit duk jauh2. dapat rasa nikmat yg sekali sekala je. xde la hari2 rasa cinnabon. bosan ar jugak. plus pokai ar kalu makan cinnabon ari2.. huhu!

Menerima ujian ALLAH dengan hati yang tabah.

I've had my eyes on "mumtaz" since the summer holidays.
Preparing myself.. and planning every single thing in order to achieve it.

Apart of me is saying "aaaarrrggghhh!!!!"

but the other half is saying "hold on.."

Mansoura's Railway Station

we could already smell it..
we could already see it!
but unfortunately........we didnt get to eat it..

the 3.5-hour train ride from mansoura to alexandria was mainly driven by craving for Cinnabon.
Cinnabon is 300km away from us.
either you take a bus to cairo..
or take a train to alexandria..

From San Stefano Mall (in alex), we took a cab to Green Mall.. where the Cinnabon is.
Yah and I immediately went to the Cinnabon stall straight away!
The satisfaction of seeing the kedai itself has already drove us mad.
But somehow we decided not to buy the Cinnabons yet cuz Yah's friend said that Carrefour also has Cinnabon..!
So we postponed our purchase.

After shopping in Carrefour (woi carrefour lagi murah kot dari mansoura!!!), without delay, we went hunting for the Cinnabons.

"Hena fii Cinnabon?"(ni broken arabic, meaning "sini ada cinnabon?") i asked one of the local people.

"Lak ah.. hena mafish (nope.. sini xde)" he answered.

ohh sh*t. (ni monologue ar..takkan nak cakap kuat2)

there's no Cinnabon in Carrefour. and the train is about to leave in an hour.
haih..

so i said to myself, (again monologue-ing)
we're Muslims. we should accept whatever God's decision is.. He knows best. kan?

ada laa hikmahnye tuu..

I remember the moment i stepped outta the plane, i start having migraines already. it didnt end there obviously.. when i walked to the place where you claim your luggage, there was this smell of sh*t.... *typical* so whatever.
Met with this one chinese Malaysian. He said it's his 1st time in Egypt. and he asked me mahal tak taxi......... haha!! he asked the right person! muahaha~ so i said "bargain half of what he ask sampai dapat!! and dont let them rip your money off!!" hohoho~ *jahat tol*

here's a thing about Egyptian. I think diorang tak sayang nyawa diorang.
why? cuz they drive like orang gila!! its like cheating death!! Thank God i'm still alive!!

I expect my 1st day as a 3rd year medical student to be very exciting and interesting but it turns out to be the opposite.
if my first lecture i attended has given me bad headaches, i cant imagine how it'd be like for the rest of the semester!
shouldn't be focusing on the problem. instead i should be looking for a solution for it.
still gotta catch up for the previous case i missed last week. darn it!!

wow dah year 3!
ok 1st semester of year 3 is all about all the stuff goin' on from the mulut to the a**hole. (GIT laaa. ish)

having bigger aims and higher expectations for this year is making me frustrated and many times i hesitate and wonder whether i'm capable of achieving them.. damn i have such low self-esteem!! parents should be supporting! not giving me bad headaches!!

Medicine?

This is how I define medicine.

Just when you thought you’ve covered everything that you need to know, and you tell yourself “ok, it’s time to take a break.. rest time! no more reading to do! i'm done!”, there’s always something that come up and you found out that there’s a whole lotta things you haven’t even read yet!! (you know.. like when you've finished reading everything that you thought you need to know, then suddenly you saw your friend reading about something else, then you freak out @_@)

Malaysian students being CONNED???

rumors has it that, not only the agents from Singapore Airline (in Cairo) that's shamming us, the agents from other airlines are ripping us off too!! (dunno betol ke tak.. better take precautions la)

Pissing about this ain't gonna change anything really. By now, if you're stuck in this problem, you should be going straight to the airline office and settle this once and for all, even if you need to add up any money, which in this case, is neccessary (to upgrade from N class to Y class.)

This matter is not just for the ones who're having troubles with their airline ticket, but for y'all too.

From now on, we have to take precautions to prevent this bull****.

DO NOT buy through impostors! eh silap.. i mean agents. I'm not saying all agents are frauds. Some of them are. lalala~ So either you go directly to the main office, or you buy through online. My parents, nowadays, they're buying airline tickets through the airline's website, and it works pretty well for them! For example Singapore airline, you just go to www.singaporeair.com and you can purchase your flight ticket! tapi bayar with credit card la. If you don't have credit card, call your parents ler~~

Sama-sama kita doakan kepada kawan-kawan kita yang sedang menghadapi masalah tiket ni~ Malang betoi la tahun ni~ haih..ya Allah, bantu la hamba Mu ini~

the SIA crisis

few days ago, i went to the SIA office to confirm my flight ticket. But little that i know that the flight ticket i bought about 5 months ago was actually a LIE.

Well not a lie really. More like I was being manipulated. A few of my friends who bought tickets from SIA who are also scheduled to departure on the 9th of October are also in the same situation as i am.

We all thought that the flight seat is already in our hands, but actually, most of us are on the WAITING LIST. Its the last thing you would expect to be in after you've fully paid the tickets, it aint cheap ok! if it is, i wont make such a big fuss out of it!

From what I heard, the Egyptian agent who's working at the SIA office in Cairo tricked the students to buy those tickets and not even informing us that we're on the waiting list. what a fraud..

For once, i wished that they care more about people than MONEY.
Sorry to say but that's what i think of Egyptians.

Greedy, selfish and liars.

I just wanna go back to Mansoura and continue with my new semester peacefully : (

On the bright side, i get to spend more time at home~~ (but still, the thought of missing alotta classes can make me go nuts!!! God help us all......)

Its the 6th day of Ramadhan. How's everyone doing with the fasting?
Been losing weight? I for one am not. My body's doing the exact opposite!! How can you gain weight during the fasting month?? I know why. Cuz u sleep after u sahur and you literally consume everything in your sight when you're breaking your fast. EVERYTHING.

I'd kill for a two-hour tennis match right now.isk..

if its not the fasting month pun, i dont think i can even get outta the house with the heavy rain pouring since this noon!!! til maghrib it hasnt stopped yet

I've seen few mastectomies where the surgeons only removed the lumps from the breast and never have i actually seen a surgery where they have to remove the whole breast.

Anyway, while watching a hysterectomy, i was called to the induction room and I saw this patient, with a blanket covered til her neck. And I was asked.. "what's this case about?" ........ (how am i suppose to know) therefore i read her profile.. 35, female, written with a very 'doctorish' handwritting.. "Breast Lump".. and I thought its gonna be a typical mastectomy, but when her blanket was pulled.. i was SHOCKED. And my jaw dropped..! thank God the patient was already under anesthetic cuz it would be kinda rude for you to react like that infront of the patient.

The lump.. was as big as.. ok fine i'll just show one picture..

yes people, thats a breast lump, specifically, its breast cancer. (if nak tengok the bloody picture, can ask from me) There are two types of breast lump.. malignant (the cancerous, meaning spreadable, and dangerous one) and the benign (not spreadable, less dangerous)

The first question that popped in my mind was "why did she wait till now to remove the damn lump!!??" so the answer that I got from my dad was.. "bomoh kot.. and it depends on her level of education jugak" ... T_T

and another answer from the surgeon.. "its the feeling of losing ones breast" that makes her hesitate to go for surgery of course..

i say bull****!! if you see your skin is being eaten up, go straight to the hospital la!! not to some bomoh or watever!

There's no exact cause of this unfortunate disease.. except there are predisposing factors, such as not married, not breast feeding, late period, family history and so on.

what i'm trying to convey is.. don't wait til its too late.. In this case, obviously it is kinda too late. But she didnt die..yet. This is a malignant case, if its benign, tak teruk sangat, there's no spreading. But in malignant, you're whole body is at risk! including your lungs and heart.. and brain!!

So if you suspect you MIGHT have breast cancer or abnormal lump, go see the doctor A.S.A.P..!!!
